Celebrating our 19th year, the American Lung Association in Colorado proudly offers the only timed race event at the iconic, gorgeous Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This unique run/walk challenge combines breathtaking scenery and a rock ‘n roll vibe for our 1.3-mile run/walk and 5K. Dogs welcome at both events.

We will host over 1,500 participants on a course that begins in the upper parking lot at Red Rocks and continues along the beautiful park roads, concluding with the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre stairs. Bands will be present along the route to entertain and motivate you with a real rock ‘n roll vibe!

You can register online by choosing the Register option on the Run the Rocks home page and specifying your participation type: Recreate Team from Last Year, Register as a New Team Captain, Register as a Team Member or Register as an Individual.

The 1.3-mile Run/Walk and 5K are open to all participants and there is no time limit for those two events.

The 1.3-mile Run/Walk and 5K is the best for families who want to experience Red Rocks and the beautiful views. Strollers are welcome at this event.

Children 5 years old and younger are free of charge.

Children ages 6-17 are $20 for the season with no price increase.

  • 5K and Family Fun Run/Walk = $40.00

September 1 - October 8

  • 5K and Family Fun Run/Walk = $60.00

While fundraising will not be required in 2024, please keep in mind that this event is an important fundraiser for the American Lung Association in Colorado. As the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy, and research, we kindly ask that each Run the Rocks participant considers making a meaningful personal donation and/or fundraise. Please contact CEvents@Lung.org for more information or assistance with fundraising.

As a non-profit organization, the American Lung Association in Colorado considers the registration fee and pledges a donation to Run the Rocks. Thus, we do not offer refunds and registrations are non-transferable.

No. These two events take place on the roads at Red Rocks Park. Therefore, due to increased traffic in and around the area, additional measures are in place to ensure road safety for all our participants.

Please note that all entrances to the park will close at 8:15 am. Please plan accordingly.

Fundraisers are not only rewarded with the good feeling of making a substantial difference for those living with lung disease and all of us advocating for clean air, you also score some pretty cool Run the Rocks gear! incentive items are coming soon.

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome at both events. Be sure to check out the American Lung Association bandanas and travel water bowls available for purchase at packet pick-up and on event day.
