Yes! You can join our local LUNG FORCE Walk Buffalo Facebook group to interact with other Walkers, learn more about the American Lung Association and our sponsors and partners!

There is no registration fee, but it is a fundraising event. We encourage all participants to fundraise. We offer a number of fundraising tools to help you be a successful fundraiser. Every dollar helps move us closer to a world free of lung cancer and lung disease.

We encourage each participant to try and raise funds to support our mission through online fundraising, collecting cash or check donations from friends, family, and coworkers. You can kick off your fundraising efforts by making a $35 self-donation toward your fundraising goal of raising a minimum of $100 to make a difference in the lives of those who struggle to breathe because of lung disease.

Work with your local LUNG FORCE staff to develop a fundraising plan to reach the height of your fundraising potential. For additional tips and tools, check out your Participant Center for more information available to registered participants.

Every participant who raises a minimum of $100 will receive a commemorative t-shirt. For more motivated fundraisers, there are additional rewards that you can work to achieve. Take a peek at the fundraising incentives.

If you are participating in the LUNG FORCE Walk because of a personal connection to lung disease, you can identify yourself during the registration process. Additionally, you can also update your personal fundraising website to share your reason for Walking. Those participants who self-identify either during the registration process or updating their personal page will have a chance to be featured on our LUNG FORCE Walk Buffalo Facebook group thanks to our LUNG FORCE Heroes & Leaders sponsor, Western New York Immediate Care.

We understand that not everybody is able to attend the LUNG FORCE Walk in person for various reasons. Participating in our Walk Your Way program will allow you to still support the mission of the American Lung Association and LUNG FORCE!

With safety being our number one priority, we will continue to monitor current CDC guidelines as well as local guidelines. Our Walk Safe Commitment, includes spatial distancing, health screenings, sanitation protocols, and face masks.

Walk Day Information

The Walk is approximately 1.5 miles along the Lake Erie waterfront at Buffalo Harbor State Park. There will be a shorter route available for our LUNG FORCE Heroes and those wishing to participate in a shorter route as well.

Check-in for all event participants and day-of-event registration starts at 9:30 a.m. We encourage participants to join us at 9:30 a.m. to have plenty of time to visit our mission tents and sponsors before the Walk itself starts. The actual walk will begin at 10:45 a.m. after our Opening Ceremonies.

The LUNG FORCE Walk will go on rain or shine! In the case of inclement weather, your local event staff will notify participants of alternate plans.

Free parking is available at Buffalo Harbor State Park. Please enter the park at the Tifft Street entrance (NOT the Charlie’s Boat Yard entrance) and park in any available spot near the pavilions and playground. There is a gravel lot right in front of Pavilion 3 as well as handicap-accessible parking located to the right of the playground and pavilions. Additional free parking is located along Fuhrmann Blvd.

Buffalo Harbor State Park is a public park. Dogs are allowed but must be picked up after. We ask that you are mindful of bringing your pet as they can trigger a respiratory emergency in some of your fellow Walkers!
