9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.: Mission Tents and sponsor activity area open for event participants to learn more about our FORCE and help make a difference in our community. This is when all the pre-Walk fun happens!
10:30 a.m.: Opening Ceremonies
10:45 a.m.: Walk start
11:30 a.m.: Closing Ceremonies
Don’t miss a moment of the fun. Arrive at your event starting at 9:30 AM so that you can check-in or get registered and ready for your walk. You will also want to explore our passport tents and get stamps for your LUNG FORCE Action Passport sponsored by AcariaHealth.
At our Mission Tent area, you will be able to learn more about the American Lung Association including the advocacy, education and research that we are doing around lung disease and lung cancer. Come interact with our sponsors, volunteers, and other families and businesses that have been impacted by lung disease and lung cancer. Thank you to our Mission Tent Sponsors: Roswell Park Comprehensive Center, Windsong Radiology, and Western New York Immediate Care.
LUNG FORCE Walks are a great time to meet other people battling lung disease, which is why participants who have a personal connection are encouraged to identify themselves at registration. If you are comfortable, you will be asked to join as a new LUNG FORCE Hero and will have the opportunity to share your story. Submit your story for a chance to be recognized on our Facebook group thanks to our LUNG FORCE Heroes and Leaders sponsor, Western New York Immediate Care!
Parking and Driving Directions
Buffalo Harbor State Park 1111 Fuhrmann Blvd Buffalo, NY 14203
Please use the Tifft Street entrance for the Walk located directly across the entrance from Tifft Nature Preserve (NOT the entrance near Charlie’s Boat Yard). We will be located at Pavilion 3 next to the playground and to the left of the marina. Look for a sea of turquoise!
At registration, you will be given a Spirit Pom to wave with pride as you walk. In this small, spirited way, we can recognize loved ones who are currently struggling with lung disease as well as those we have lost.
LUNG FORCE Action Passport
Visit each of our passport tents to learn more about our mission and earn yourself a stamp. All participants who complete their LUNG FORCE Action Passport by collecting all five stamps will be eligible to win a prize!
Mission Mile Markers
Remember and honor a loved one who’s life has been affected by lung cancer or lung disease, by creating a sign that will be displayed on the walk path.
LUNG FORCE Heroes
Our LUNG FORCE Heroes are patients, caregivers, family, friends and co-workers of those who are impacted by lung cancer or lung disease. These brave individuals share their powerful real-life stories online and at events to help raise awareness and educate the public about what it’s like to live with lung cancer or lung disease. Everyone's story is unique, so if you're interested in becoming a LUNG FORCE Hero, please contact Kaelyn Gates. We invite you to Share Your Voice and read about other people's experiences online.
LUNG FORCE Leaders
If you’re ready to take your fundraising to the next level, you could become a LUNG FORCE Leader! LUNG FORCE Leaders are individuals that raise $500 or more and help make a significant difference in the lives of people impacted by lung disease and will receive special benefits on Walk day.
