Every Step Counts
Outdoors, onward and upward.
Healthy lungs and clean air. That’s why we Climb.
We're taking the Climb outside in 2021. We’re moving onward and upward, safely and responsibly, so that we can make an impact now to ensure a healthier future for all.
Join us outside for a re-imagined Climb at Comerica Park. All are welcome to share in this adventure, whether you’re new to the event or a veteran Climber.
Just like our indoor event, how you climb outdoors is up to you. You can race to the end or take it at your own pace. There’s even a Climb Your Way virtual option for those who can’t make it to the event.
Your safety is always our number one priority. While we are planning for an outdoor event, we are continually monitoring local conditions with regard to COVID-19. Check this page for the most up-to-date information about the event.
We need you in the fight now more than ever. Come outside for the shared challenge, for the camaraderie, and for a world free of all lung disease.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to finalize the stair counts for Fight for Air Climb Detroit, May 23 at Comerica Park. Our estimated stair counts up and down are as follows:
- Stadium Climbers and Elite Stadium Climbers: 1,077 stairs.
- Firefighters and First Responders: 2,123 stairs.
- Ultimate Challenge Climbers: 2,640 stairs.
Please note the Climb Detroit Team will be returning to Comerica Park after the Detroit Tigers Opening Day to do a final count and double check our estimated stair counts. For training purposes, we recommend adding an additional 150 stairs to our stair counts to make sure you’ll be fully prepared on Climb Day.
