Every Step Counts

Outdoors, onward and upward.

Healthy lungs and clean air. That’s why we Climb.

We're taking the Climb outside in 2021. We’re moving onward and upward, safely and responsibly, so that we can make an impact now to ensure a healthier future for all.

Join us outside for a re-imagined Climb at Comerica Park. All are welcome to share in this adventure, whether you’re new to the event or a veteran Climber.

Just like our indoor event, how you climb outdoors is up to you. You can race to the end or take it at your own pace. There’s even a Climb Your Way virtual option for those who can’t make it to the event.

Your safety is always our number one priority. While we are planning for an outdoor event, we are continually monitoring local conditions with regard to COVID-19. Check this page for the most up-to-date information about the event.

We need you in the fight now more than ever. Come outside for the shared challenge, for the camaraderie, and for a world free of all lung disease.

Registration is Closed

Registration for the 15th Annual Fight For Air Climb Detroit is now full and closed. Due to Covid-19 protocols and wave limitations, we cannot accommodate on site registration or any further online registration. We hope you will join us next year.

If you are still interested in supporting Climb Detroit on May 23, we are in need of Event Day Volunteers. You can register as a Volunteer below. Please note, volunteers will not be climbing but will be assisting with the support of the event day logistics.

Why We Need You in the Fight

In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.

Over the last 11 years, the Climbers have raised more than $60 million to support the mission of the American Lung Association. Last year, more than 26,000 participants from 43 Climb events across the country came together last year to raise more than $7 million.
