Ambassadors
Join us as an esteemed Turquoise Takeover Ambassador in South Florida! There are numerous meaningful ways for you to participate in this multi-month campaign, to bring awareness to lung cancer, while moving the needle forward on a cure. You can invite your friends and coworkers to join you for any number of our upcoming community events, or you can even host your own Turquoise Takeover fundraising event with your coworkers or friends & family at work or at home (i.e. Jeans Day, bake sale, Happy Hour for a cause, Birthday party with a purpose, selling turquoise silicone bracelets etc.)!
Other ways to go Turquoise:
- Share your voice on social media and use our templated posts to raise awareness to the facts around lung cancer
- Host a Facebook fundraiser to easily collect donations socially
- Consider illuminating your office, building or home space TURQUOISE and tag us @LungSoFla
- Get your coworkers together and host a small run/walk and challenge your lungs while saving lungs!
LUNG FORCE Heroes
JHave you or a loved one been personally impacted by lung cancer? LUNG FORCE Heroes are survivors, caregivers or family members who have faced this devastating diagnosis, and want to join the LUNG FORCE movement to empower others while advocating for a cure.
Our Heroes in South Florida also have opportunities to share their stories through social media, email campaigns, and at events, like our LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree. Every year a select group of Heroes are selected to walk in the Light the Way Luminary Procession at the LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree. The 2024 Soiree will take place on June 1. Consider signing up as a LUNG FORCE Hero today. If you are interested in participating in the Luminary Procession at the Sunset Soiree, contact Nicole.Reyes@lung.org.
Join us for a week of fun during Turquoise Takeover Week (May 6 - May 12)!
Each year, we turn the nation our signature color - turquoise - and tell the stories of those affected by lung cancer to provide hope to all those affected by the disease and save more lives. Join us by turning turquoise this week and lending your support! Unite with us as we raise funds to support critical advocacy, education and research. Tag us @lungsofla in selfies wearing your best turquoise apparel!

Tuesday, May 7th: Yoga Class with Bright Drop Yoga
Join us for our annual yoga class, led by Barbara Newman of Bright Drop Yoga and Hosted by the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort!
Turquoise Takeover Spirit Week aims to bring awareness to lung cancer, by engaging the community in a celebration of life and breath. This event is no exception.
Bring a mat, towel and bottled water, as you enjoy breathtaking scenery and a relaxing yoga experience. Network with other LUNG FORCE Ambassadors passionate about lung health,and consider popping into the hotel restaurant or bar for an after-yoga aperitif or appetizer (discounts will be provided to Yoga event attendees).

- Last day of Turquoise Takeover! We are so honored to be able to host this event and share the important task of raising awareness of lung cancer with so many incredible people!
- LUNG FORCE Virtual 5K Run/Walk! Host your friends and family for a LUNG FORCE 5K Run/Walk in your own neighborhood or park. Get your virtual race bib, take pics along the course. Tag us @LUNGSoFla. $100 min fundraising earns a fundraising incentive and collectible T-Shirt!
