If you have questions about Scale the Strat - Fight For Air Climb, here's everything you need to know.

General

You can register online by specifying your participation type. You can climb as a team, an individual, or join us as a volunteer. Then follow the prompts to complete your registration. Please feel free to reach out to event manager Nevada Events with any questions.

$35 to register even on event day. Minimum fundraising of $200 will also be due.

Registration fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to make the event, funds raised will support the American Lung Association’s mission. You may request to transfer your registration fee to the next event date, but please note that registration fees are non-refundable.

THE STRAT is 108 flights and 1455 steps.

The average time to climb The STRAT is under 30 minutes.

Start times will be staggered. You will receive an email link to the start times the Friday before the event. If you have opted out from event emails you will not receive the link and will need to check the website for your start time.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time. This gives you time to check your gear and warm up.

Look for the registration/check-in tables in the festival area. You will receive event updates with check-in information and early packet pickup. If you have opted out of event emails you will not receive this information.

Climbers are NOT PERMITTED to carry anything up the stairwell, such as:

  • Water bottles, camel packs, backpacks, fanny packs, etc.
  • Water will be available at designated water stations inside the Tower.
  • Infants/children, pets, cell phones, cameras, or any electronic devices / portable music devices, such as MP3 players, iPods, etc.
  • Hands—free devices

  • If you have medications like inhalers, etc. that are critical to your health & well-being - do bring those with you as you climb but be sure to inform event staff at the base of the stairwell. Medical staff and paramedics will be dispersed throughout the stairwell to assist you if needed. Oxygen will be available.

There will be security checks before you climb.

We will have photographers and volunteers at the finish line to take picture and share with climbers.

Once you have started ascending the stairs you may not turn around and go down the stairs. If you need assistance or need to leave the climb, see a volunteer stationed at various checkpoints within the stairwell. Please understand that there are limited exit points from the stairwell.

Fundraising

The minimum fundraising requirement is $200 per person. Climbers have until event day to raise the money. and if, for some reason they haven't met the minimum they will be asked to pay it before participating.

The registration fee does not count toward the fundraising minimum. But don’t worry, we are here to help, and we have plenty of fundraising ideas and tips to get you started!

Teams

Climbing on a team is the best way to enjoy the event. The camaraderie of the shared endeavor is priceless, and it is way more fun reaching the top with friends and family cheering you on.

To form a team, choose Register as Team Captain. Make sure you have a team name in mind: honor a loved one, make it fun or name it after your business — the sky’s the limit!

After you register as a Team Captain, tell your team members to select Register as a Team Member and to search for your team name to join.

Team captains rally friends, family and co-workers to form a team to work together and fundraise for the Climb. Register as Team Captain today!

No, the registration fee and fundraising minimum are per individual. There are no additional fees for creating a team.
