What is the Asthma Basics Workshop?

The American Lung Association's Asthma Basics course is a free educational event designed to help people learn more about asthma. This course is ideal for frontline healthcare professionals, such as school nurses or community health workers, as well as individuals with asthma, parents of children with asthma, and co-workers, friends and family who want to learn more about asthma.

Are Continuing Education Credits Available?

This training is nationally accredited for continuing education credit and/or contact hours for respiratory therapists and physicians. Other licensed healthcare providers may claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity, as applicable to their state licensure requirements.

  • This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hour Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)
  • RMCHCS (Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services) designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM

How do I sign up for the workshop?

You can register online by clicking the Register button at the top of this page. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing the next steps to access the webinar vendor on the date of the training.

What platform is the workshop being held on?

The live webinar will be conducted through Microsoft Teams. You will be asked to download the Microsoft Teams Window app or Watch on the Web.  You can choose either option to access, both are available for free.
