No, there is no fundraising requirement for volunteers to participate. While you are welcome to fundraise if you choose (and we offer some really cool incentives if you do), you will not be required to do so before joining us on event weekend.

Thanks to the generous support of people like you, the American Lung Association saves lives by fighting for healthy lungs and healthy air. Today, our fight is more important than ever, and 90 cents of every dollar raised by our organization goes directly to education, research and advocacy.

Enhanced guidelines that include reduced capacities, social distancing, suggested mask use in high traffic areas, among other protocols, have been instituted. In addition, participation in the Trek is reserved for attendees that take, and attest to, a negative rapid COVID-19 prior to event check-in. The American Lung Association continues to closely monitor and follow all CDC, local and state COVID-19 guidelines.

Trekkers and volunteers will be required to take, and attest to, a negative COVID-19 rapid test in order to participate in the 2023 Trek Across Maine. Test must be taken within 24 hours of initial check-in time at the applicable Trek Across Maine venue location. If you’re sick, stay home. The American Lung Association will continue to evaluate and adjust these protocols by regularly monitoring venue, state, or CDC guidelines to ensure optimal lung health for our community. The safety of our participants, volunteers and staff, is of utmost concern.
