What is the Asthma Educator Institute?

The American Lung Association Asthma Educator Institute is a two-day preparatory course for those qualified to take the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) examination. Developed in January 2003, the Asthma Educator Institute was recently updated to reflect the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Expert Panel Report 3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma.

The curriculum covers the content outlined in the NAECB Candidate Handbook and includes case reviews, hands-on skills demonstration and practice. The course is delivered by asthma experts from your community, including Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C).

How much does it cost?

The registration fee is $275 through August 4, 2019 and $300 after August 4, 2019. Registration fee includes resources materials, continuing education credits plus breakfast and lunch both days of the program. Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Full payment must be received with your registration.

Will continuing education units be offered?

The Asthma Educator Institute is designed to meet continuing education requirements for a variety of healthcare professionals. Presenter objectives, qualifications and a certificate of attendance will be available for nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others desiring continuing education credits.

What is the cancellation policy?

Registration fee is refundable, less a $25 processing fee, prior to August 20, 2019. Substitutions are permitted. Registration confirmations will be emailed.

Attire

Please dress comfortably. Business casual is welcome. Since conference rooms can vary in temperature, you may want to dress in layers.
