Cycle the Seacoast is one of the American Lung Association’s signature fundraising events. Your participation will raise the funds necessary to help provide life-saving lung health education, research and advocacy efforts.
Out of an abundance of caution, the American Lung Association has adjusted plans for the 2020 Cycle the Seacoast for the safety of our participants, volunteers, staff and partners. You can now participate in the virtual option!
If you are already registered for the event, you do not need to register again and are not required to fundraise. If you are a Golden Ticket holder and are not yet registered, you need to pay a $55 registration fee to participate in the virtual ride but are not required to fundraise. You can still earn incentives as a Golden Ticket holder if you raise $400 or more. If you do not know what a Golden Ticket is, then this does not apply to you.
No, the registration fee does not apply towards the fundraising minimum. Cycle the Seacoast registration fees do not go towards fundraising minimums and are non refundable and are non transferable. Please contact Melissa.Walden@lung.org if you would like to brainstorm fundraising ideas.
Your current registration distance will apply for the virtual ride. If you’d like to change that, please contact us. You can participate in the virtual ride at your own pace and on your own route by June 30th. Virtual participants are not required to ride miles if they do not wish to, however they are required to meet the fundraising minimum to receive the t-shirt and medal.
Virtual participants are not required to take part in the cycling option if they do not wish to, however they are required to meet the fundraising minimum of $200 by June 30th in order to receive the event t-shirt and commemorative medal. We do encourage everyone to get outside and stay active to keep your lungs healthy!
If you’ve chosen to do the cycling portion of the virtual event, please let us know once you’ve completed your mileage by emailing Melissa.Walden@lung.org and/or posting your photos and screen shots of mileage in the Facebook Group. Feel free to send us your photos so we can share them on our social media accounts and celebrate your accomplishments! Once we know you’ve completed your fundraising and the ride, we will send you your event t-shirt and commemorative medal. Items will be mailed in July.
If you are already registered for the event, you will not need to register again. If you are not yet registered, we are offering a virtual event registration fee of $10. You can start your registration here.
$200 for registrants 18+ / $100 for registrants 7-17
The event will close on June 30th and you will not be able to raise funds for the 2020 event past that date. We appreciate all your efforts to raise funds for the American Lung Association and understand circumstances can arise that do not allow you to meet the fundraising minimum. However, we cannot send the t-shirt and medal to anyone who has not met the $200 minimum by June 30th. Please understand that we are still incurring event costs even though there is no physical event happening.
The 12th Annual Cycle the Seacoast will be on May 2nd, 2021 at Cisco Brewers Portsmouth. The 2021 site will live on July 1st, 2020. You can register for the 2021 event at that time.
Since we will not be having the actual physical event on May 3, now all registrants have through June 30, 2020 to complete mileage (optional) and fundraising (required). The event t-shirt, medals and incentives (to those qualified) will be mailed after that date.
No, you do not but we encourage you to still have your bike tuned up at our sponsoring bike shop, Eastern Mountain Sports, or your local bike shop.
Yes, all incentive levels will be honored.
Yes, if you are a 5 or 10 year veteran to the event in 2020, you will still receive your award as long as you meet your fundraising minimum by June 30th.
No, the registration fee is non-refundable/non-transferable.
If you registered before March 27th, 2020 and would like to transfer your donations to 2021 and not participate in the virtual event you can do so. Please notify us if you would like to do this by May 3rd. Please email CycleTheSeacoast@Lungne.org or call 207-624-0312 to get the transfer process started by May 3rd.
If you registered before March 27th and your donor has requested a refund they can email CycleTheSeacoast@Lungne.org or call 207-624-0312 to ask for a refund by April 15th.
