Jeffrey G. Schneider, MD, FACP
Jeffrey G. Schneider, MD, FACP is currently the chief of medical oncology and hematology at NYU Langone Health’s Long Island campus in Mineola. Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Schneider is committed to providing state of the art cancer care to the Long Island community. He started and leads the lung cancer center of excellence at NYU Long Island where he also started the first hospital-based lung cancer screening program in the New York metropolitan area and has been principal investigator on numerous cutting edge clinical trials involving novel immunotherapeutic and molecularly targeted therapies. In his own words, Dr. Schneider lives by the mantra that: “We should never be satisfied until we can prevent or cure every case of lung cancer. Smoking cessation, early detection, coordinated multidisciplinary care and novel therapeutics are already promising that reality.” Dr. Schneider has published and lectured extensively on the topic of lung cancer. He has received numerous “Top Doctor” and other awards. He graduated from Lawrence High School (1977), Brown University (1981), and Yale University School of Medicine (1986). He did his medical residency at NYU in Manhattan and his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
