Navigating Lung Cancer Screening & Treatment at All Levels
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in America, but now there’s hope. Screening is used to detect lung cancer early, when it is more likely to be curable. If lung cancer is caught before it spreads, the likelihood of surviving 5 years or more improves to 60%*.
The American Lung Association in Western New York is excited to host our “Community Connections” event, targeting primary care, specialists, and advanced practice providers, to help increase lung cancer screening in Western New York. This program will cover education around the updates to the United States Preventive Services Task Force screening guidelines, surgical and medical oncology treatments for lung cancer, and patient navigation.
Registration for Healthcare Professionals is $35, and Students is $15. This will include dinner and the program.
This program has been approved for 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
For more information or questions on the program or opportunities to display at the education event, please contact Kaelyn Gates at Kaelyn.Gates@Lung.org.
*Based on early-stage lung cancer statistics (stage 1 vs. stage 4).
