What will I learn during the Tobacco Prevention Education, Intervention, and Referral for Healthcare Worker training?
During the training, you will learn about the dangers of tobacco use, how to effectively screen for tobacco use, how to conduct brief interventions with patients and refer them to cessation resources. In addition, we’ll focus on how to help people quit using motivational interviewing skills and how to integrate lung cancer screening discussions into patient conversations. The training will wrap up with an exploration of how to integrate the information provided into your daily work with guidance on how to gather information, refer patients, report on patient conversations and referrals, and follow up.

To support what you’ll learn, you’ll receive an electronic resource kit full of useful information and resources you can share with your patients and community members.
