Every Mile Counts

Join us in Talkeetna!

Join us on a mission to make a difference for everyone who breathes. We are very excited to announce that on May 13, 2022, we will be riding in the shadow of America’s tallest peak, Denali. We will offer our four traditional ride lengths: 100 mile, 60 mile, 25 mile, and a fun family 10 mile route as well as a virtual option to Cycle Your Way. The in-person and Cycle Your Way options both have amazing support throughout the event!

Clean Air Challenge will celebrate it’s 39th anniversary in 2023. Our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease is in hyper-drive as we continue to face down COVID-19 through our COVID-19 Action Initiative. The dollars our riders are raising are making a difference at this critical time.

Please review the details below regarding how you can participate.

  • Ride in Person with Overnight Lodging: We are excited to be cycling along the George Parks Highway at the base of Denali for a picturesque journey on one of the best supported rides in Alaska. After a day of bucket-list riding, enjoy an unforgettable finish line experience at The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. A registration fee applies to all in-person registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $500. Incentive Gifts begin at $500 and will include one night in shared room and dinner on Saturday May 13th at The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge as well as a Clean Air Challenge 2023 tee-shirt.
  • Ride in Person Day Ride: Did the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge sell out before you could register? Are you a local trekker who lives in or near Talkeetna? The day ride option is great for you. You will be able to choose from one of our four routes and join our overnight trekkers for a great day on the course. A registration fee applies to all in-person day ride registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $350. Incentive gifts begin at $350 and will include dinner on Saturday May 13th and a Clean Air Challenge 2023 tee-shirt.
  • Cycle Your Way: Plan your own ride on a route and date that works best for you. There is no registration fee for Cycle Your Way participants. You are eligible for incentives starting with the finishers medal and tee-shirt for raising just $200 for the American Lung Association.

In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.
