Safety Procedures

Clean Air Challenge riders are reminded to obey all traffic regulations and posted signage. Should you need any assistance, there will be a contact number posted for Rider Support.

We ask that you kindly practice safe cycling. Please ride single file and remain alert at all times. Please extend courtesy to drivers, course marshals, law enforcement officials, residents of communities along the route, and fellow riders. We require that all riders wear bike helmets and high visibility clothing. State and local rules or recommendations for safety related to COVID-19 will also apply.

Please note that all riders must be at least 5 years old by event day in order to participate. Children age 5-12 are allowed to participate in the 10-mile and 26-mile options. Riders age 13-17 are allowed to participate up to the 60 mile option. Any rider under the age of 18 must ride with an adult (age 18 years or older), and must not be left alone under any circumstances. For adults who ride at a faster pace, please note that your child may not be left unattended while you ride.

If you want to register a child who will be riding with you in an attached bike trailer or attached bike seat, please email
