Another year has gone by since my sister, Melissa, at the age of 36, died from Lung Cancer. Has it been three years already?
She was not a smoker nor was she ever around second-hand smoke; lung cancer has this stigma that we want to destroy...ANYONE can get/have Lung Cancer...not just smokers!
For the third year in a row, I will be particpating in the Lung Force Love Run/Walk on April 20th in Allentown, PA in honor of Melissa and as a part of Melissa's Minions! My hope is to raise awareness for de-stigmatizing this disease and to help increase funding for this overwhelmingly under-funded type of cancer.
Did you know...Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.
Together, with your help, we will walk to raise awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer and raise our voices for lung health.
That’s why I have decided to participate in the LUNG FORCE Run/Walk. When you join the American Lung Association and LUNG FORCE in the fight against lung cancer and for lung health, you join us in our mission to improve lives—and save lives.
Your donation and participation will help make a difference in the lives that desperately need it. To support my efforts, and to help save lives today, please donate now.
Together, we are a FORCE to be reckoned with!
