Its my 28th year of riding for the AEBT. Who knew? The course is totally gorgeous, the event is well-organized and inspirational, and the people and experiences are uniformly wonderful. The motivation seems to grow , not diminish, as the personal, medical, political and environmental issues for why this is an important event and cause just multiply over time.
Rose cannot ride this year due to the effects of a prolapsed lumbar disc, but she will be with us all for the weekend. Happily her lung cancer has remained indolent over the last couple of years, and her recent scans are unchanged. We are thankful and grateful. Our son-in-law, Matvey, will be flying again from California to participate for his 11th time-wow!
Our team, The Wheelers has taken on a new identity this year due to the progressive loss of some previous members for a variety of reasons. We are looking to add new membership, so consider both riding and donating!
The ALA is a leader in raising awareness about climate crisis, a key supporter of research to find better treatments for lung disease, and a fearless advocate in the face of those who would deny the science, limit the treatments or cut the budgets critical to progress.
