FFS Facilitator Training - Porterville, CA - 2012/12/06 Sierra View District Hospital
Quitting smoking is hard. That’s why people need Freedom
From Smoking®, America’s gold standard smoking cessation
program for over 25 years. People who use this program are 6
times more likely to be smoke-free one year later than those
who try to quit on their own.
This recently updated program is better than ever. Based on the
latest research on addiction and behavior change, it approaches
the difficulties of smoking with a sensitive, supportive style. This
interactive program can be delivered to small groups over 7
sessions, in English or Spanish. Through lectures and group activities, participants learn the concepts, philosophy, materials and techniques proven to help them quit smoking.
Facilitator training is required to assist smokers in quitting through the American Lung Association's Freedom From Smoking® program. Facilitators are trained to lead our seven-week smoking cessation program. Those who successfully complete the two-day training will be certified by the American Lung Association as Freedom From Smoking® Facilitators.
