Corporations, businesses, friends, families, and other organizations can form teams. To form a team, choose register as a team captain. Make sure you have a team name in mind. After you register as a Team Captain, tell your team members to select register as a team member and search for your team name to join.

As a participant, you have access to your own online participant center where you and your team members can send email messages, track donations, and monitor progress. Login to your participant center to get started.

Yes, you can download the LUNG FORCE app for Android and Apple devices. With this nifty mobile app, you can invite friends and family to join your team, fundraise on the go and track your steps (new!) in just a few taps. Learn more once you register and enter your participant center.

Donations can be made online by credit, debit card or PayPal. Donors will receive a receipt via email for their contribution, which is tax-deductible. Donations collected via check or cash may be mailed to the American Lung Association office at:

Turquoise Takeover is a meaningful way to support a life-saving community challenge, in a variety of ways! This can be a fun opportunity to host your own athletic challenge at the location of your choosing. Run or walk at your favorite park, your neighborhood, or your local landmark and request donations for every step or mile that you take on! Make it a team event or go solo. Walk your way!

Maybe you want to host a happy hour, or trivia night with your co-workers and donate the proceeds to your team fundraising goal! Or perhaps you have a birthday coming up, and in lieu of gifts, you’d like to ask everyone to bring a donation to support your fundraising goal! The possibilities are endless, and American Lung Association staff will be in touch to help you tap into some creative ways that you can participate as a Turquoise Takeover Ambassador or LUNG FORCE Hero.

Fundraising can take place any time between now and May 31, but considering hosting your event sometime during the week of Turquoise Takeover, May 6 - 12, 2023!

Every dollar raised helps us advance the mission to defeat lung cancer, and there is no minimum fundraising amount to participate as an Ambassador, but we ask you to encourage your friends and family to be as generous as they can be.

At minimum, all participants who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative campaign t-shirt.
