Event Information

How long is the run/walk?
We have two options available: a one-mile route and a 5k route.

What time should I be there?
8:00 AM: Registration opens
9:00 AM: Run/Walk begins

How should I prepare for event day?
Please bring your additional fundraising dollars to ensure you reach or exceed the $100 fundraising level to earn an official LUNG FORCE event day t-shirt. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather; don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses and comfortable shoes. In case of inclement weather, bring an umbrella or rain jacket. And of course, make sure to wear as much turquoise as possible.

What do I do if it rains?
The LUNG FORCE Run/Walk will go on rain or shine! In the case of inclement weather, your local event staff will notify participants of alternate plans.

Where should I park?
Parking is available at event location.

Are pets allowed?
Though we love our furry friends, they can cause a respiratory emergency in some participants. For that reason, we ask that you refrain from bringing pets to this event.

Registration and Participation

How do I sign up?
You can register as an individual walker, team captain, team member or volunteer by clicking the correct participation type link.

Is there a registration fee? Do I have to raise money to participate in the Run/Walk?
There is no registration fee for LUNG FORCE Walks. The LUNG FORCE Walk is a fundraising event and all participants are encouraged to raise funds via online fundraising and fundraising events.

Kick off your fundraising by making a $33 personal donation toward your fundraising goal of raising a minimum of $100 to make a difference in the lives of those who struggle to breathe because of lung disease. Work with your local LUNG FORCE staff to develop a fundraising plan to reach the height of your fundraising potential. How do I get a commemorative LUNG FORCE Run/Walk t-shirt?
Every participant who raises a minimum of $100 will receive a commemorative t-shirt. There an additional fundraising incentive you can achieve - click here to view all fundraising incentives levels

Who should checks be payable to and where should they be sent?
Donations made online can be paid by credit, debit card or Pay Pal. Donors will receive a receipt via email for their contribution, which is tax-deductible. Donations collected via check or cash may be mailed to the American Lung Association office at:

How do I find out if my company has a matching gift program?
Many companies offer matching gift programs in which the company will match an employee’s contribution to a charitable organization. If you are not sure if you qualify for a matching gift, please use the company search tool below. The tool will provide you with information regarding minimum and maximum match criteria, as well as steps on how to get started. Some companies without a formal program may still match your gift, if you ask your personnel or human resources department.

Is there a minimum age to participate?
Anyone can join a LUNG FORCE Run/Walk. All individuals must register. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older at the event. And remember, kids can raise funds, too!

Is there any special recognition for people who have asthma, COPD, lung cancer or another lung disease?
Yes. If you are participating in the LUNG FORCE Run/Walk because of a personal connection to lung disease, you can identify yourself during the registration process. You will be invited to join our force of LUNG FORCE heroes and will have the opportunity to share your story if you are interested.

What is a team captain?
Team Captains rally friends, family and co-workers to form a team and participate in the LUNG FORCE Run/Walk. The team captain helps coordinate online registration, goal setting and also assists team members with fundraising. Register as a team captain today.

What is an official run/walk team?
Ideally, a run/walk team includes a Team Captain and a minimum of four team members.

About the Participant Center / Online Tools

I forgot my username and password. What should I do?
Click here to receive an email with your username and password.

How do I change my username and/or password?
First login to your participant center using your current username and password. At the top of the page, click on the “Profile” link. Once in your profile, you can edit your username, password, email address and contact information. Your account will be changed immediately.

What online tools are available and how do I use them?
The LUNG FORCE Run/Walk Fundraising Guide, found in your participant center, provides detailed information about online fundraising tools. As a participant, you are encouraged to set a fundraising goal, personalize your own page, reach out to your network for support using online tools, and share through social media (don’t forget to use the hashtag #LUNGFORCE to tag LUNG FORCE in your posts & photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!).

Can I use my mobile device to make fundraising easier?
Yes, you can download the LUNG FORCE app for Android and Apple devices, which will allow you to easily update your personal page, send pre-crafted donation requests and check your fundraising progress plus more - all from the palm of your hand. Learn more once you register and enter your participant center.
