Mt. Hood Program

CFCA Mt Hood FY16 Left BorderStanding at 11,245 feet, Mt. Hood is Oregon's tallest peak. With sunrise views reaching from Mt. Rainier to the north, Mt. Jefferson and the Three Sisters to the south, a summit experience on Mt. Hood is breathtaking and magical. The south side routes are accessible to climbers with no previous mountaineering experience provided they are in good physical condition at the time of the climb.

As part of the Mt. Hood climb program you will receive a professional Snow Training Climb Class on the first day of your climb.

Registration for this climb is $250 which also go towards your fundraising goals. The minimum fundraising requirement to participate and have a guaranteed spot for your mountain is $4,750.

The climbers who sign up for the Mt. Hood program receive the following:

  • Invitation to the Kick-Off Virtual Event.
  • Participation in all training activities. This includes frequent training hikes led by experienced volunteers, a clothing and gear clinic, and a Climbers Clinic on Mt. Hood.
  • Discounts on gear.
  • A fundraising tips page full of ideas and sample letters, a personal page on the website, and access to one-on-one fundraising guidance from the professional fundraising staff of the American Lung Association.
  • All professional guide fees paid on your behalf

The Mt. Hood program does not include:

  • Transportation to or from Mt. Hood.
  • Tips and gratuities.
  • Food.  Participants are responsible for day-of climb snacks.
  • Personal, non-technical gear. Participants will be responsible for all items on the Gear List, with the exclusion of technical equipment (boots, crampons, ice axe, helmet and harness), which is provided.
