Embarking on the Climb for Clean Air isn't just a personal challenge for me – it's a journey towards making a tangible difference in the lives of those grappling with lung disease. As I conquer new heights, I'm driven by the mission to support over 36 million Americans facing the daily struggle of respiratory conditions. Your contribution will be a crucial part of this climb, funding groundbreaking research, impactful advocacy, and essential education initiatives.
The funds we raise together will serve as a lifeline for individuals diagnosed with lung disease, providing access to lifesaving treatments and significantly enhancing their quality of life. The significance of this cause resonates deeply with me, especially knowing that each step I take uphill is a step towards progress, hope, and improved well-being for those in need.
I'm not just climbing for the thrill of the ascent; I'm climbing for a cause that touches the lives of millions. Join me in this transformative journey or consider making a donation today. Together, we can scale the heights of compassion and support, making a lasting impact on the fight against lung disease. #ClimbForCleanAir #LungHealth

Preparation
Preparation for any new adventure starts with a plan and a system. What does that look like for a Florida girl? I learned a few years back from my previous training plan, reading mountaineering books, and general training for Mt. Raininer that there are three components: 1. Nutrition, 2. Training Plan, 3. Will!
Following a close diet of good, lean proteins, and balances of fats and carbs is essential to having the energy for training and muscle growth. In the last month, I have worked to adjust my eating habits to drop a little unwanted weight and turn it into muscle.
My next steps are to outline the training plan for the next 5 months. Today, was a fun day where I got a baseline for how I could do with a weighted pack completing 1000 vertical feet on the treadmill at 25 degrees. And it felt great! Now on to a more detailed plan.
The last training plan for Rainier went really well and I felt very strong (especially for someone not used to altitude) on the climb. So I will begin outlining this plan to climb 11, 239' based on that experience and training plan: strength, aerobic, and increasing my VO2max with interval training. I feel confident this will be a fun hike and super excited to be doing my first climb for a great cause!
