Hi! My name is Ryan Lo. I am 11 years old and a 6th grader at the Saklan School, in Moraga, California.
I am starting a team to join American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb because it is another way I want to bring awareness to air pollution and its many causes.
Did you know air pollution is one of the world’s largest killers, responsible for 6.4 million deaths per year (1 in 9 deaths), of which 600,000 are children.
Some common causes of air pollution are:
Carbon emissions from factories and transportation
Overuse of machinery in agriculture, manufacturing and construction
All the forest and wild fires around the world
Fossil fuel refineries
Not only does breathing in polluted cause difficulty breathing, bad allergy and asthma, and other lung problems, it also accelerates global warming. The predicted rate of warming for the next century is at least 20 times faster.
Please join me and support me in this very important event!! Any amount of donation helps!
In the next couple of months, I will also explore ways to reduce pollutants in my podcast, A Change is a Chance!
Thank you for your support! Let’s work together to decrease air pollution! Let’s fight for clean air.
