Blaine and I started near the front of the pack. We kept a really good pace. 17-21 mph. This event was very well organized to raise
money for the American Lung Association. My goal was to raise $1000. I came in with $823. Thank you to all my wonderful friends and my business associates for donating to this wonderful cause.
The ride organizers had 4 rest stations for us filled with power bars, Gatorade and other high energy snacks. We road through some of the most beautiful farm land and waterways in Oregon. Blaine and I made it to the finish line in 4 hours 45 minutes. It was an awesome ride. When we reached the finish line there were crowds of people cheering for all the riders. As I turned into the big arch finish line, I was suddenly taken by my emotions of such a great and fun accomplishment. I must thank Matthias for making me do this ride. He got me back on my bike after crashing it 3 years ago and fear kept me from thinking I was never going to ride my bike again. Cheers to courage and support from all of you.
