Two years ago, two of us formed a small but dedicated team to brave the Trek Across Maine. We had sun and beautiful weather for the three day ride! The experience was intoxicating and upon hearing the tale of our journey, we enticed others to join us.
Last year, four of us set out on the Trek Across Maine unashamedly hoisting the banner of team "Just D.O. ME!" with the goal of helping New England breathe easier and having a little fun and comaraderie along the way. Day one was cold and pouring rain, but we Trekked on and eventually found our way to Belfast and a well deserved lobster roll.
This year, we have grown, bringing along a much bigger and motivated group of like-minded cyclists who want to support the American Lung Association while enjoying the company of many who will ride from the mountains to the sea in June. We focussed our recruitment conversations on the lobster rolls and comaraderie, avoiding such mundane issues as weather and hills. :-)
We will be riding together in support of the fight against lung diseases such as lung cancer, COPD and asthma. Our team has multiple reasons for participating- whether it’s a personal fight with lung disease, the struggle or loss of a loved one, a deep commitment to the cause and/or just for the experience.
Please consider supporting our team. We are all committed to raising awareness about preventing lung disease and promoting lung health. In addition to training for the ride, we each need to raise a minimum of $550 in donations. With your help, our team will shine bright on event day!
You can make a personal donation to any team member by clicking on their name and you’ll be taken to their personal page.
