What is Reach the Beach Oregon?

Reach the Beach is known for being the best supported ride in the Northwest.

Reach the Beach Oregon is widely acknowledged as the official start of the Oregon cycling season! Four different routes as well as a Cycle Your Way option ensure that this bike ride has something for everyone - from experienced cyclists to those new to riding, including younger, novice cyclists.

Experience our routes in 2024: Riding through some of Oregon’s most stunning landscapes, Reach the Beach begins on Sauvie Island, just west of Portland where the Willamette River meets the Columbia River. The route proceeds through the Tualatin Mountains with its dramatic forests and hilltop views, before descending to historic Astoria along the Youngs River. The ride ends at the mouth of the Columbia River with a finish-line celebration in the heart of Astoria at the Barbey Maritime Center.
