Thanks to the generous support of people like you, the American Lung Association saves lives by fighting for healthy lungs and healthy air. Today, our fight is more important than ever, and 90 cents of every dollar raised by our organization goes directly to education, research and advocacy.

If you are wondering how your support impacts our community, look no further! Here are two great examples:

  • The Lung Association awarded 12 COVID-19 & Respiratory Virus Research grants in 2020. Dr. Brandon Dekosky at the University of Kansas Center for Research is a recipient of this 2-year award.
  • The Airways Clinical Research Centers, funded by the Lung Association, is led by some of the best investigators nationwide. Their research focuses on asthma and COPD research. Kansas City is home to an ACRC located at the University of Kansas Medical Center, led by Dr. Mario Castro.

These are just two examples of the many ways the American Lung Association is impacting our local community.

Donations can be sent to the American Lung Association office:

Teams can be made up of in person climbers, virtual climbers, or a combination of both.
