Event Day Schedule

  • 7:00 a.m. EST: Registration Opens
  • 8:30 a.m. EST: Non-Firefighter Start
    • Climbers will start 5 to 7 seconds apart.
    • Top 3 fundraisers go first.
    • Followed by VIP members (climbers who $500.00 or more).
    • Followed by top 3 fundraising teams, all other teams and individuals fall in.
  • 9:30 AM EST: Firefighter Quick-Dress Competition Begins
  • 10:00 a.m. EST: Firefighter Climb Start
    • ALL Firefighters must be registered by 9:30 a.m.
    • Firefighters will start 15 to 20 seconds apart.
    • Top 3 fundraisers go first.
    • Followed by 10 ten fastest from last year, if they raise $500.00 or more.
    • Followed by VIP members (climbers that raised $500.00 or more).
    • Followed by top 3 fundraising teams, all other teams fall in.
  • 10:30 a.m. EST: Non-Firefighter Awards Ceremony
  • 11:30 a.m. EST: Firefighter Awards Ceremony

Climber Etiquette

To ensure the safety of all climbers, please be courteous while climbing. If you need to pass, please make sure to pass on the left side.

Water Stations

Water stations are located on approximately every 10th floor. Water is NOT permitted in the stairwell.

Safety Procedures

Trained medical personnel will be located throughout the stairwell and at the top in case you need assistance. Volunteers will also be available at the water stations.

Children

Climbers must be at least 12 years old to participate. Any climber under the age of 18 must climb with an adult (age 18 years or older) and must not be left alone under any circumstances. For adults who climb at a faster pace, please note that your child may not be left unattended while you climb, so make arrangements accordingly. Due to building regulations and to ensure your safety and that of your child, child-toting is not allowed.

Awards

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of every climber and team who has raised money to fight lung disease. Participants and teams who have gone above and beyond will be recognized. Non-firefighter climber awards will be announced during the Firefighter Climb between 10 and 11 a.m. Firefighter climber awards will be announced between 11 and 11:30 a.m.

There will be tons of medals, plaques, awards & raffle prizes available at the Climb! The awards ceremony will take place outside at the Post-Climb Expo shortly after the last Climber or Firefighter has completed the event. No duplication of awards, (i.e you cannot win a medal for 1st Overall Male and another for 1st Overall in your age group division)

Overall Individual (Non-Firefighter) Awards awarded to:

  • Medals to Top 3 Overall Fastest Male/Female
  • 1st Place Overall Fastest Male/Female will receive a special trophy/plaque as well
  • A plaque will be given to overall fastest Male/Female masters age 50 to 59 and grand masters age 60+.

Age Group Awards:

  • Medals to the Top 3 Male/Female in the following age group divisions:
    14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & Over

Overall Firefighter Division Awards:
(MUST wear Turnout gear w/o hood/mask/SCBA to be eligible for awards)

  • Medals to Top 3 Overall Fastest Firefighters Male/Female
  • 1st Place Overall Fastest Firefighter Male/Female will receive a special trophy/plaque as well

Age Group Awards:

  • Medals to the Top 3 Male/Female Firefighters in the following age group divisions:
    20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & Over

Team Awards

  • Firefighter Team will receive a special trophy/plaque
  • Non-Firefighter Team with most participants will also receive a special trophy/plaque
  • Firefighter TEAM Awards (MUST wear Turnout gear w/o mask to be eligible for Firefighter Team awards)
  • Firefighter Teams MUST consist of at least (4) total members, (top 3 fastest times on each team are used for results).
  • Top 3 Fastest Firefighter Teams will receive medals, (top 3 fastest individuals on each team)
  • 1st Overall Fastest Firefighter Team will receive the coveted Traveling Trophy, (bragging rights for a year! The Champion gets to keep the award until they are dethroned and defeated! All the firefighter teams will be competing for this shiny axe mounted on a plaque with your Firefighter name/county/station engraved on a plate)
  • The Firefighter Team with most participants will also receive a special trophy/plaque Products.
