The American Lung Association is dedicated to saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research.
Our non-profit organization is focused on preventing lung cancer and lung disease, improving the air we breathe, reducing the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families, and eliminating tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases.
For over 115 years, we have led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. Today, our mission to help all Americans breathe easier is more important than ever.
Your generous donations make our work possible.
The American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE initiative unites women, men and caregivers across the country to stand together against lung cancer, the leading cancer killer. Through education, advocacy and research, we work to provide hope to all those impacted by the disease and to save more lives. Through LUNG FORCE we have invested more than $22 million in lung cancer research funding; enabled more than 700,000 Americans to learn if they are at high risk for lung cancer; provided patients with information about clinical trials and biomarker testing; and helped increase federal lung cancer research funding by 115% from 2013 to 2021.
