Enhanced guidelines that include reduced capacities, social distancing, suggested mask use in high traffic areas, among other protocols, have been instituted. In addition, participation in the Trek is reserved for attendees that take, and attest to, a negative rapid COVID-19 prior to event check-in. The American Lung Association continues to closely monitor and follow all CDC, local and state COVID-19 guidelines.
The American Lung Association follows all federal, state and venue COVID-19 guidelines.
As the trusted champion for lung health, the American Lung Association is focused on slowing the spread and defeating COVID-19. To protect the overall population and those most vulnerable, COVID-19 vaccines are recommended, readily available and effective at protecting people from getting severe COVID-19 illness.
Due to the ending of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration, and loosening of college facility limitations, trekkers and volunteers will no longer be required to take a test to participate in the 2023 Trek Across Maine.
However, we do encourage you, for the safety of others, to test prior to arrival. If you are sick, and not feeling well, we ask that you please stay home. The American Lung Association will continue to evaluate and adjust these protocols by regularly monitoring venue, state, or CDC guidelines to ensure optimal lung health for our community. The safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff, is of utmost concern.
