The Trek Across Maine route is 180 miles over three days!

No, there is no fundraising requirement for volunteers to participate. While you are welcome to fundraise if you choose (and we offer some really cool incentives if you do), you will not be required to do so before joining us on event weekend.

Thanks to the generous support of people like you, the American Lung Association saves lives by fighting for healthy lungs and healthy air. Today, our fight is more important than ever, and 86 cents of every dollar raised by our organization goes directly to education, research and advocacy.

A matching gift is where a company matches an employee's contribution to a charitable organization, like the American Lung Association. Make your donations go even further with a matching gift today!

Use our company search tool below to see if your company offers a matching gift program, as well as find information on how to get started.

The safety of our participants and volunteers is our #1 priority. Enhanced guidelines that include social distancing, reduced capacities, use of masks, among other protocols, have been instituted. In addition, participation in the Trek is reserved for fully vaccinated individuals only, with proof of vaccination required. The American Lung Association continues to closely monitor and follow all local and state COVID-19 guidelines. More information will be available closer to the 2022 event.

As the trusted champion of lung health, the American Lung Association is focused on slowing the spread and defeating COVID-19. To further protect the overall population and those most vulnerable, we need a sufficiently high proportion of the population to get vaccinated to stop coronavirus transmission. All event participants, including volunteers, must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination prior to event weekend.
