To ensure the safety of our immune-compromised participants and volunteers, masks are required for all Lung Association event participants, volunteers and staff, regardless of vaccination status, in official event spaces when in close contact with others. Masks may be pulled down while walking. Please wear your mask as you enter the event and while in proximity to other attendees to protect the health of others.
With safety being our number one priority, we are continuing to monitor current CDC guidelines as well as state/local guidelines.
The safest environment for gathering is outside in the fresh air, and to create that safe environment, we will be:
- Spatial distancing and wearing masks
- Controlling flow and number of people on-site
- Following strict site sanitation protocols throughout the day
- All attendees must complete and pass a digital health screening questionnaire
As the trusted champion of lung health, the American Lung Association closely follows CDC guidance related to COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic is changing rapidly and requires evolving strategies to maintain effective public health measures. As such, our COVID-19 safety protocols may shift in response to updated COVID-19 local conditions and local ordinances. When the local community spread referenced on the CDC map is low, exemplified by the green or yellow ranges, vaccines and masks are not required inside or outside event locations. When the community spread level is high, shown in orange, vaccines or a negative COVID test (rapid or PCR) within 48 hours pre-event for indoor events, must be shown. For outdoor events in orange communities, masks are encouraged in high traffic areas, and for indoor events in orange communities, masks are required except when actively climbing or sitting at a table. The American Lung Association reserves the right to adjust safety protocols, up to seven days prior, based on CDC guidance and/or venue, state, and local ordinances.
