You can register online by specifying your participation type. You can climb as a team, an individual, or join us as a volunteer. Then follow the prompts to complete your registration. Please feel free to reach out to event manager Sherry Alexis with any questions.

Online registration prices are as follows:
There is a $65 registration fee for SCALE THE STRAT.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

With safety being our number one priority, we are continuing to monitor current CDC guidelines as well as state/local guidelines.

We will be:

  • Requiring proof of vaccination, please submit here
  • Spatial distancing and wearing masks
  • Controlling flow and number of people on-site
  • Following strict site sanitation protocols throughout the day

The driving force for the vaccination requirement is to protect the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff at the indoor event. Based on current science that is in the interest of public health, the American Lung Association strongly believes that requiring a vaccination for our constituents participating in an indoor event, in addition to masking and other protocols, offers the best protection for the health and safety of those attending.

Thank you for asking and please rest assured that the American Lung Association takes data privacy seriously. The proof of vaccination is used solely for the purpose of ensuring that our events are in compliance with local regulations and/or the requirements of our event partners (e.g. lodging, dining facilities, etc.). We do maintain a record of proof of vaccination until the event has been completed. The vaccination proof is securely stored, restricted to limited employees on a need-to-know basis, and will be deleted entirely once the event has been completed.

Climbers will go up 108 floors, 1,455 steps up The STRAT Tower (854 ft).

The average time to climb The STRAT is 22 minutes.

Start times are scheduled every 15 minutes beginning at 7:30 a.m. You will receive an email link to the start times. You will also receive a "wave letter".

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time. This gives you time to check your gear and warm up.

If for some reason you cannot complete the climb, medical volunteers and STRAT staff stationed in the tower can assist you.

Climbers are NOT permitted to carry anything up the stairwell, such as:

  • Water bottles, camel packs, backpacks, fanny packs, etc.
  • Water will be available at designated water stations inside the Tower
  • Infants/children
  • Cell phones, cameras or any electronic devices / portable music devices, such as MP3 players, iPods, etc.
  • Hands-free devices

If you have medications like inhalers, etc. that are critical to your health & well-being - Do bring those with you as you climb, but be sure to inform event staff at the base of the stairwell.

  • Medical staff and paramedics will be dispersed throughout the stairwell to assist you if needed
  • Oxygen will be available


Gear check location is TBD at this time.

The American Lung Association in Nevada and The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please leave valuables, purses, coats, wallets, etc. in your hotel room, at home, or with your guests.

Gear check must be minimal to ensure a speedy process; therefore, it is primarily for jackets, sweats, street shoes and all electronic devices. *Everything must be able to fit into a standard size shopping bag.

If you are not climbing, you can view climbers via live video!

There will be a special waiting area located inside The STRAT Theater for guests. Guests will be able to see climbers progress via video display.

Yes, The STRAT is offering a 30% discount on room February 25-27, 2022. Rooms must be booked by January 15, 2022 online only. Go to and use code ALA22.


The minimum fundraising requirement is $175 per person. Climbers have until event day to raise the money and if, for some reason they haven’t met the minimum they will be asked to pay it before participating.

The registration fee does not count toward the fundraising minimum. But don’t worry, we are here to help, and we have plenty of fundraising ideas and tips to get you started!

The American Lung Association is dedicated, now more than ever, to providing you with the Climb experience you know and love. As your Trusted Champion of Lung Health, we are also committed to fulfilling our promise of responsible recreation. Therefore, the American Lung Association will continue to closely monitor public local health conditions and CDC guidelines. In order to appropriately protect our participants' well-being and the community at large, the American Lung Association reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or alter the 2022 Fight For Air Climb.

Should the Fight For Air Climb be altered to be a virtual event, your registration will automatically transfer to virtual participation in our Climb Your Way program. Your registration fee, and any funds raised, will transfer with your registration. Participants who raise $100 or more will earn a Fight For Air Climb shirt. Raise $175 or more to qualify for an additional incentive item.

If the Fight For Air Climb is canceled or postponed, funds raised will support the American Lung Association’s mission. You may request to transfer your registration fee to the next event date, but please note that registration fees are non-refundable.

Climbing on a team is the best way to enjoy the event. The camaraderie of the shared endeavor is priceless, and it is way more fun reaching the top with friends and family cheering you on. Also, forming a team is the best way to ensure that you and your friends and family are scheduled to climb at the same time on climb day.

To form a team, choose Register as Team Captain. Make sure you have a team name in mind: honor a loved one, make it fun or name it after your business — the sky’s the limit!

After you register as a Team Captain, tell your team members to select Register as a Team Member and to search for your team name to join.

No, the registration fee and fundraising minimum are per individual. There are no additional fees for creating a team.
