Lung cancer screening is a regular preventive health check, much like a mammogram or colonoscopy. It is used to test for lung cancer before you have symptoms.

At Phelps Hospital Northwell Health & Northern Westchester Hospital Northwell Health, our screening experts are trained in detecting lung cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages—so that they can act before the disease has a chance to spread.

Lung cancer screening is recommended for people who are at high risk. You may be eligible for a lung cancer screening if you are 55 to 77 years old and a smoker or former smoker who quit within the last 15 years.
