Accreditation, Educational Goal and Learner Objectives

PHYSICIANS: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and the American Lung Association. TUSM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. TUSM designates this live activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

RTS: An application has been made to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists.

NURSES: This activity has been submitted to the Connecticut Nurses’ Association for approval to award contact hours. The Connecticut Nurses’ Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurse Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Requirements for Successful Completion: To receive CE credit, participants must sign-in, attend the activity and complete and submit the activity evaluation provided in syllabus materials. Partial credit will be awarded for attending one or more presentations. Certificates/statements of credit will be emailed within 6 weeks of the activity. Check back for additional accreditation information.

Educational Goal: The goal of the activity is to improve the care of patients with pulmonary and critical care related issues by providing health professionals with increased knowledge and skills around new advances, best practice, treatments and services.
