Start times will be emailed to participants and posted on the Fight For Air Climb at Oakbrook Terrace Tower homepage by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
We will have gear check available on event day, so you can bring your jacket with you to the event. Please leave all valuable items at home as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Wear athletic shoes you are comfortable climbing in.
Please bring any fundraising dollars you have collected and not yet turned in. If you have collected donations, make sure to also bring the Pledge Form with you to ensure your donors are properly thanked after the event from the Lung Association. We cannot thank your donors if we do not have complete information. And of course, please bring a positive attitude and lots of energy!
You may only bring inhalers, iPods, cell phones, MP3 players into the stairwell with you. There will be water stations in the stairwells. Water bottles are not allowed in the stairwells. Due to building regulations, we do not allow participants to carry children while they climb in the stairwells.
The Fight For Air Climb is all about the challenge. Climbers and teams challenge themselves to reach the top, raise money, beat the clock, and be the best. While raising money to fight lung disease is our top priority, we know all of our climbers and teams work hard to meet whatever challenge they set for themselves. Fire Department
Fire Department Traveling Trophy: The Fastest Fire Department Team will win the Traveling Trophy which they will have to keep on display for 1 year. Departments must wear full gear in Fire Department Challenge to qualify. Teams must have at least 5 members and the top 5 times will be averaged to determine the winner.
Individual Firefighter Challenge: The top 3 fastest firefighters, whether climbing with their department or as an individual, will be awarded.

Police/Law Enforcement Department
Police/Law Enforcement Department Traveling Trophy: The Fastest Police/Law Enforcement Department Team will win the Traveling Trophy which they will have to keep on display for 1 year. Teams must have at least 5 members and the top 5 times will be averaged to determine the winner.
Individual Police/Law Enforcement Challenge: The top 3 fastest Police/Law Enforcement officers, whether climbing with their department or as an individual, will be awarded.

Trained medical personnel will be located in the stairwells and on the main floor in case you need assistance. Volunteers will also be available at the water stations if you need help in the stairwell.
Water stations are located 10, 21, and the top (31). Water bottles are not allowed in the stairwells, as it is a safety hazard.
Please make sure to always announce your presence and your intent to pass a slower climber. To ensure the safety of all climbers, please pass slower climbers on the far side.
Please note that all climbers must be at least 5 years old by event day in order to participate. Any climber under the age of 18 must climb with an adult (age 18 years or older), and must not be left alone under any circumstances. For adults who climb at a faster pace, please note that your child may not be left unattended while you climb. Please make arrangements accordingly. Due to building regulations, your safety, and that of your child, child toting is not allowed.
