Event Directions

Event Day Schedule

7 am: Registration
8 am: Climb Starts
9:30 am: Awards/Celebration

Start times will be assigned Thursday, November 7, by 5:00 p.m. Each participant will be notified via email with their start time.

Any outstanding donations. Please wear comfortable sneakers ad light clothes. The stairwell can be very warm. Please arrange to leave your outwear in your car if possible; (light storage will be limited).

You may only bring inhalers, cell phones, and portable music players into the stairwell with you. There will be water stations in the stairwells. Due to building regulations, we do not allow participants to carry children while they climb in the stairwells. We are not responsible for personal items (wallets/purses/cell phones). The American Lung Association and Fountain Place are not responsible for lost items.


Recognition awards will be given out during the awards celebration immediately following the last climber.

Safety Procedures

Trained medical personnel will be located throughout the stairwells (information given the day of) in case you need assistance. Volunteers will also be available at the water stations if you need help in the stairwell.

Water stations are located throughout the stairwells (information given the day of). Water bottles are not allowed in the stairwells, as it is a safety hazard.

Climber Etiquette

To ensure the safety of all climbers, please pass slower climbers on the far side. Please make sure to always announce your presence and your intent to pass a slower climber.


Please note that all climbers must be at least 12 years old by event day in order to participate. Any climber under the age of 18 must climb with an adult (age 18 years or older), and must not be left alone under any circumstances. For adults who climb at a faster pace, please note that your child may not be left unattended while you climb. Please make arrangements accordingly. Due to building regulations, your safety, and that of your child, child toting is not allowed.
