Let every step you take make a profound impact on lung health and clean air in Colorado!
Celebrating our 17th year, the American Lung Association in Colorado proudly offers the only timed race event at the iconic, gorgeous Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This unique run/walk challenge combines breathtaking scenery and a rock ‘n roll vibe for our 5K and 1.3-mile run/walk (well-behaved dogs welcome in these events).
We will host over 1,500 participants on a course that begins in the upper parking lot at Red Rocks and continues along the beautiful park roads, concluding with the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre stairs. Bands will be present along the route to entertain and motivate you.

Because when you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.
To continue to do the great work of helping those with lung disease here in Colorado, we are implementing a $25 minimum fundraising for each Run the Rocks participant 18 years and older. We are here to help you achieve that goal and beyond! Please let us know if you have any questions about this change.
*New* 10K removed for 2023:
We have been advised by the staff at Red Rocks Park to remove the 10K due to safety concerns. Over the last couple of years, it has become increasingly difficult to ensure the safety of each 10K runner as cones are moved on the course, cars enter the course and jeopardize the safety of the runners. We are incredibly sorry to those of you who have enjoyed the 10K through the years and will continue to keep discussions open for the future.
In March 2020, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.
