Every Mile Counts

We are riding back to the beach!

Join us on a mission to make a difference for everyone who breathes. We are very excited to announce that on May 14, 2022 we will be riding back to the beach and will offer our four traditional ride lengths: 100m, 75m, 50m, 25m and the virtual option to Cycle Your Way. This cycling event is perfect as a personal challenge, an opportunity to explore your community, and a way to stay active. The in-person and Cycle Your Way options both have amazing support throughout the event! We provide superb organization, beautiful routes, numerous social events, regular training challenges, excellent fundraising support, and more!

Reach the Beach OR will celebrate its 32nd anniversary in 2022. Our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease is in hyper-drive as we face down COVID-19 through our COVID-19 Action Initiative. The dollars our riders are raising are making a difference at this critical time.

Reach the Beach OR encourages our cyclists to stay active and enjoy time on their bike while supporting the work of the American Lung Association. Please review the details below regarding how you can participate.

  • Ride in Person - by selecting one of our four breathtaking route options. We are excited to be cycling back to the beach in 2022. Join us for one of the best supported rides in the PNW and enjoy an unforgettable finish line experience at Pacific City. A registration fee applies to all in-person registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $200. Incentive Gifts begin at $200 and will include a Reach the Beach Finishers’ medal and 2022 tee-shirt.
  • Cycle Your Way: Plan your own ride on a route and date that works best for you. There is no registration fee for Cycle Your Way participants and you are eligible for all the same incentive gift awards as those who ride in-person on May 14th, starting with the finishers medal and tee-shirt for raising just $200 for the American Lung Association.

Why We Need You in the Fight

In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.
