Per CDC guidance, masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated people in public spaces. If you are not yet fully vaccinated, to ensure the safety of our immune-compromised participants and volunteers, masks are required in official event spaces when in close proximity to other attendees. If you are fully vaccinated and still would like to wear a mask, you are welcome to do so.

Cycle For Air ALASKA!

We’ve learned over the last year that when circumstances upend “normal”, Alaskans adapt! Throughout the pandemic, we’ve embraced the incredible outdoors in our “backyard”, we bought all the bikes the shops had to sell, and we found new and inventive ways to stay social while keeping our distance for the safety of ourselves and our friends and family.

Cycle For Air Alaska is a new one-day event that lets Alaskans have fun on bikes while supporting the important work of the American Lung Association. We have two ways to participate, and we’ll provide you with numerous online social events, regular training challenges, excellent fundraising support leading up to the ride.

  • Cycle Your Way by choosing your own route, when you ride, what type of bike, and who you ride with. Cycle Your Way lets you be a part of the amazing event experience the Lung Association is known for, from anywhere within our great state. There is no registration fee for Cycle Your Way participants and you are eligible for all the same incentive gift awards as those who ride in-person on May 22, starting with the commemorative event t-shirt for raising $200 for the American Lung Association.
  • Cycle in Person by selecting one of our four new distance options. This event will be held in the Matanuska Valley on May 22, 2021. Please note that the in-person ride may be subject to a maximum capacity cap due to local and state COVID-19 restrictions and ALA safety protocols. If we are required to limit participation, priority will be given to the highest overall fundraisers, riding as part of a team or individually. A registration fee applies to all in-person registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $200.

You may register as an individual, team member or team captain by using the links on this page or clicking on the REGISTER button on the top of this page. You will have the best fundraising tools at your fingertips including your own personal, online fundraising page where you can raise funds to fight lung disease, promote clean air, and support our COVID-19 Initiative.

Our online tools make it easy to raise the funds needed to qualify for prizes, and donations are tax-deductible. No matter how you choose to ride, you will be a part of the amazing Cycle For Air community! If you need support registering, please call Jennie Tschappat at 907-644-6411.

Get those miles in!

Join our Cycle For Air Strava Club for cycling challenges and bragging rights, join our Facebook group for activities, scavenger hunts and team events, and follow along on Instagram for photo montages of why we ride and where we go!

As you raise money, you earn prizes. Our incentives are cumulative, meaning the more you raise, the more you win.

Please remember to practice social distancing while spending time on your bike and working towards achieving your mileage goal. Daily exercise is key to both lung health and mental health so this is a win-win!
