Together We've Raised…

  • Raised:

    Goal: $160,000.00

Climb weekend is FINALLY here and we’re ready to celebrate with you in Lucas Oil Stadium. We have important information to share with you about this year’s event so please read carefully so you’re prepared for a challenging, fun, and impactful Climb!

Updated and final wave times will be posted Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 PM.

  • Remaining Packets: If you have not yet picked up your packet, please note there will now be packet pick-up available on event day. Please plan accordingly to arrive early to retrieve your packet.
  • Water: Due to COVID restrictions, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE. Plastic water bottles will be presented to you at entry and upon exit of the Stadium. There will be limited access to water throughout the event. If you are Climbing and in immediate need of water, please seek a section host in an orange t-shirt and they will provide a bottle. We recommend carrying a drawstring bag for your water and any other personal items.
  • Mask Policy: Per CDC guidance, masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated people in public spaces. However, it has been announced that the mask mandate in Indianapolis will be in place until June 7th. Masks are required for all Lung Association event participants and volunteers in official event spaces when in close contact with others. Masks may be pulled down while climbing, when you’re able to keep 6 ft of distance from other participants. Please wear your mask as you enter the event and while close in proximity to other attendees to protect the health of others.
  • Parking & Arrival: Parking will be provided in the South Lot on the south side of Lucas Oil Stadium—not to be confused with the parking lot off of South Street. A parking attendant will allow you through the gates. From the South lot, proceed down the east outward sidewalk of the Stadium to the North gates for entry. Please plan to arrive 20-30 minutes before your Wave start time. You will be permitted in the building, 15 minutes prior to your wave start.
  • Health Survey: Tomorrow morning (Saturday, June 5), you will receive a link to a brief health survey required for entry to the Climb. Please complete this survey and screen shot or print your results to readily share with the volunteer greeter at the north end zone gates.
  • Check-in: If you have already received your bib, please be sure you’re wearing it at arrival. You will proceed through the doors to a check-in table. From there, Elite Climbers will be directed to the next station and Stadium Climbers will be directed to the corral area before the assigned wave time begins. If you have not received your bib, please proceed to the nearby packet pick up and registration table.
  • Gear Check: We will have limited gear check available. Please plan to leave your valuable belongings elsewhere or carry them with you (bags are permitted in the stadium). There will be an area for you to place your own items and a volunteer will supervise the area but will not at any point handle your belongings.
  • Route: The Stadium route will begin at section 101 and conclude at section 152. Participants will proceed through the lower bowl of the stadium in a weaving pattern starting down, cutting over a section, and up the adjacent aisle. Routes will be marked, and section hosts will assist with guiding you through the route as needed.

*Elite Climbers in the upper section will begin in section 604 in the upper level and follow a similar pattern through the horseshoe

  • Breaks: Should you need to pause your Climb, please feel free to be seated in the Stadium seats at a minimum of 4-5 seats from the aisle to allow spatial distancing from other participants. If you reach your physical challenge goal prior to the finish line, please proceed to the south end zone to retrieve your medal, and exit to the south lot.
  • Exit: Once you have completed your Climb (hooray!), we invite you to recover away from the registration and check-in area, have your picture taken and of course, grab a few selfies and any belongings in the gear check area, then proceed through the west concourse to the exit of the stadium at the south end zone to retrieve your medal. Here’s to planning a party in 2022!

As an additional note, the forecast for Sunday is hot and sunny so plan to dress accordingly and only Climb at your comfort level as there will be no HVAC running with the roof open as an outdoor event.

We thank you so much for joining us again this year in the pursuit of a world free from lung disease! Please email Abigail.Moore@lung.org with questions.

Every Step Counts

Outdoors, onward and upward.

Healthy lungs and clean air. That’s why we Climb.

We're taking the Climb outside in 2021. We’re moving onward and upward, safely and responsibly, so that we can make an impact now to ensure a healthier future for all.

Join us outside for a re-imagined Climb at Lucas Oil Stadium on June 6, 2021. Over 2,000 steps around each section of the lower bowl of the stadium and over 2,400 steps around each section in the upper bowl for Elite Climbers. All are welcome to share in this adventure, whether you’re new to the event or a veteran Climber.

Just like our indoor event, how you climb outdoors is up to you. You can race to the end or take it at your own pace. There’s even a Climb Your Way virtual option for those who can’t make it to the event.

Your safety is always our number one priority. While we are planning for an outdoor event, we are continually monitoring local conditions with regard to COVID-19. Check this page for the most up-to-date information about the event.

We need you in the fight now more than ever. Come outside for the shared challenge, for the camaraderie, and for a world free of all lung disease. Don’t wait, capacity is limited at this year’s event!

Why We Need You in the Fight

In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.

Over the last 11 years, the Climbers have raised more than $60 million to support the mission of the American Lung Association. Last year, more than 26,000 participants from 43 Climb events across the country came together last year to raise more than $7 million.
