Fight For Air Climb - Group PhotoStep up and make a positive impact for lung health by participating in a Fight For Air Climb event. Raise funds and challenge yourself to support the American Lung Association's mission while climbing in Downtown Detroit. You can do it and we'll help you every step of the way!

Whether you're climbing alone or with friends and family, for a healthier lifestyle or in honor of all those who are affected by lung disease, you'll feel victorious when you reach the top. Defeating the physical challenge and reaching the height of your fundraising potential will be a gratifying experience, and one that provides hope for millions of people. Ally Detroit Center - This building will host our Elite Climber & Climber participants. Ally Detroit Center is the 2nd tallest building in Michigan. Participants will go up 42 floors & down 40 floors for a total of 82 floors and 1,740 steps.

One Woodward - This building will host our Firefighter and Other Responder participants in addition to the returning Vertical Mile Challenge. One Woodward was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, who went on to design the World Trade Center in New York. The Firefighter and Other Responder Challenge will start on the 2nd floor with participants climbing up to the 28th floor and then descending down to the first floor, for a total of 55 floors and 1,108 stairs.

What is a Fight For Air Climb?

One of the American Lung Association's signature fundraising events, Fight For Air Climbs are stair climbs held in prominent skyscrapers around the country. Climbers join friends, family, co-workers or even fly solo, climbing the stairs of the building to the top! Over the last several years, our Fight For Air Climbs have raised more than $53 million to support the mission of the American Lung Association.

More than 27,000 participants from 42 Climb events across the country came together last year to raise more than $8 million. This year, you can join the challenge and raise money to help provide life-saving lung health research, patient education and public policy efforts.

The Fight For Air Climbs vary in the number of stairs to climb, but each event offers an opportunity for teams and individuals to challenge themselves. And every step you take moves us forward in our fight for healthy lungs and clean air.
