Together We've Raised…
Our Goal: $235,000.00
Thank YOU for meeting the Challenge of
Clean Air Challenge 2020!
The Cambridge English dictionary defines challenge as “the situation of being faced with something that needs great mental or physical effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person's abilities.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. At the onset of the pandemic we suspected this year’s event would end up being one of the most challenging ever. We didn’t know what to expect, for expectations are not seemingly a part of the “new normal”, with one exception – you.
We know that Clean Air Challenge trekkers know how to tackle a challenge and we could not be more grateful for your grit, determination, and passion this year. You had to do some pivoting, had to do some waiting, and had to embrace change in short order, all while keeping the reason for why we ride at the forefront of your fundraising efforts.
And you ROCKED IT!
When the jerseys and maskas arrive in September, we will schedule a drive-through prize pick-up at the Anchorage office. For those of you who live outside Anchorage, we’ll mail your fundraising prizes through the postal service.
We missed not having our ride and celebration in Talkeetna, but we are thankful that despite the physical distance, you came together as a group - as a team – and you made a difference. That is the definition of success!
Together we made it happen!
It was a blast to celebrate with you at our Finale on Zoom!
We know some of you couldn’t make it (we MISSED you!) but you can still see the party as it unfolded here!
In order to make this year’s event as interactive as possible, we’ve created the Clean Air Challenge Alaska club on Strava. Strava is a free application you can download on your smart phone to track your miles, upload pictures, and share your ride adventures as you cycle in support of the American Lung Association.

We are pleased to introduce you to Taylor the Trekker, your new riding partner! Always ready to go with mask on, never complains about a sore bum, and enthusiastically celebrates every ride with endless arm strength. Print, trim (if you want) and tuck in your pocket every time you head out. Take pictures (Taylor is a camera ham, always posing!) and post to social media with the hashtag #covidrideak to show the world where you cycle for air!
Print and decorate a one-of-a-kind virtual bib (or two) for your virtual ride! Choose from "Why I Ride" or "I Rode...Miles" and share your pictures with us as you pedal for lung health. Post on social media with the hashtag #covidrideak and we'll feature you on Facebook!
