Together We've Raised…
Our Goal: $235,000.00
ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT
We have been closely monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout this public health situation, and as you would expect of the lung health champions working to end COVID-19, American Lung Association takes health risks and risk-mitigation very seriously. Alaska’s COVID-19 upward trend with wide spread transmission does not allow for a safe large group event currently.
So, instead of the September 19 event in Talkeetna, we are planning a Clean Air Challenge Virtual Finale Week, challenging trekkers to make a final fundraising push and plan a Finale Challenge Ride the week of August 10, cumulating with a Clean Air Challenge Finale Celebration on Zoom on Saturday, August 15! We’d love you to submit photos with your ride dedication bibs and Bike Guy, (both of which will be emailed and available on the website to print out) and take pictures with them on your rides.
Our Finale Celebration will be complete with a slide show of your virtual ride adventures, awards of fundraising prizes and recognition of our VIPs the Alaska Airlines ticket voucher drawing, and Why We Ride stories. We’ll lift a glass together (virtually, or course!) to meeting the challenge, in this exceptionally challenging year. And we’ll have the traditional Extreme Early Bird registration opportunity available for 2021! Without the day-of event costs, our fundraising goal for 2020 is $235,000.
Together we can make it happen!
In order to make this year’s event as interactive as possible, we’ve created the Clean Air Challenge Alaska club on Strava. Strava is a free application you can download on your smart phone to track your miles, upload pictures, and share your ride adventures as you cycle in support of the American Lung Association.
