Mt. Killimanjaro Climb: August 5-19, 2023!
Ten years ago we started supporting the American Lung Association and their mission to fight lung disease, provide health education and improve our air quality with a Mt.Hood climb. It was the first mountain climb for either of us. Since then, we have had many other mountain adventures, met wonderful people and most importantly helped raise money for an organization that is important to us. Now with increased damage that COVID-19 has posed to lung health, we feel it is even more timely that we help raise awareness and funds for the ALA's work. We know that there's strength in numbers, so we will take on Mt. Kilimanjaro-Africa's highest peak, together fighting lung disease and increasing awareness about the importance of lung health.
We each have our reasons for participating - Wendy's work as a physical therapist in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation has brought her close to the impact that smoking and pollutants have on lung health and Alice's asthma has given her an appreciation of how precious every breath we take is. We also have family members who have struggled and lost to lung disease...no one should struggle for breath or for clean air.
We've made a BIG commitment and we are getting there! We have been training since last year and have raised over half of the $35,000 in donations. We know that, with your help, we can attatin the fundraising goal for the ALA , be prepared for this climb, and most importantly make an impact for lung health, clean air and the decrease the impact of Covid -19.
Please support us and the ALA! You can make a donation by clicking on the donate now link below OR either of our individual links.. Thank you SO much!
