About the Tideworks Mountaineers and the Climb For Clean Air Campaign:
Tideworks Mountaineers formed in March 2018. The team is climbing Mt. Rainier (14,410 ft.) July 15-18, 2019, being on the summit around 6:30 AM on July 18th. We've teamed up with the American Lung Association's Climb for Clean Air campaign and Rainier Mountaineering International (RMI) to make this climb.
CFCA has been around for 30 years with its mission "To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease - the #3 killer in the US." It’s a unique athletic & fundraising event that is open to all levels of experience. This is where TW comes into play. We want to make this climb for a greater purpose other than personal achievement. Our own Jon Hemmingway and others were the first to do this in 2000 and 2001. They are the ones who inspired us to get involved with this charity.
