Many people take on challenges in life willfully to learn new things, experience new adventures, meet new people or to grow in some way personally. Some are thrust into unwanted challenges brought on by illness or disease.
I recently accepted the challenge of participating in the American Lung Associations annual fundraising event, Climb For Clean Air / Reach The Summit to support the efforts of the American Lung Association in reducing the unwanted challenges presented to people with lung disease.
The mission of the American Lung Association is to take us closer to a world free of lung disease through groundbreaking research, advocacy and critical education. I am here asking you to join me in the American Lung Associations efforts with a donation to support:
- Research into promoting lung health and preventing lung diseases such as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung cancer and tuberculosis.
- Being pro-active in the fight against outdoor air pollutants and environmental health; and
- Striving to reduce tobacco use that is responsible for over 400,000 deaths in the United States each year
Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many Americans who struggle to breathe!
My contribution to this cause has been a monetary donation and if the stars align, will culminate in a climb to the top of 11,239’ Mt Hood May 29th.
It is fast and easy if you are interested in making a contribution to help the American Lung Association – you can donate online by clicking the link at the bottom of this message or, if you prefer, you can send your tax-deductible contribution to the address below:

Any amount will be appreciated as it will get me closer to my fundraising goal of $7000 and help in the fight against lung disease. I appreciate any support you can offer, monetarily or with words of encouragement over the next several months as my training progresses.
Sincerely,
Mark McCarty
