My son-in-law & I set out last year to climb Mt Rainier by signing up to participate in an American Lung Association Climb for Clean Air. Our goal was to both challenge ourselves and to raise funds to help support people with lung disease who have to fight for every breath. Unfortunately, I developed a knee issue days before we flew to Seattle and ended up not being able to make it up the mountain, Landon however summited for our team and did amazing.
While my knee is fully recovered, I'm now healing up from a foot surgery in November but I just have to join another ALA Climb for Clean Air Challenge this year - both for myself so that I will start getting back into climbing shape once I can in a few weeks and so that I can help make a difference for others too!! I've selected Mt Hood and a Memorial Day Weekend climb. It's a non-glaciated mountain and one that can be climbed in 1 very long day so I can carry a lighter load etc. Your support, no matter how large or small, will be the exact motivation I need to train hard and conquer this Challenge!!!!
As you know, I've lived with asthma my entire life and all of our families have been impacted in some way by COVID these past few years. I'm climbing for a healthier future, for research to help people with COPD and Asthma, for vital COVID-19 research and for clean air.
Please consider joining me by supporting my Climb for Clean Air Challenge and be part of making a difference in the lives of lung disease patients. Always room for you on the team!!
Every day, every minute and every second counts – thank you so much for your support!
