Help me reach the Summit!
I am choosing to take on the challenge of raising funds for the American Lung Association in memory of my father who passed away 8 years ago from cancer. He raised me with a love of the outdoors and specifically Mt. Hood. I am doing this to challenge myself to achieve something I have never seen as possible and I am excited to be a part of the 2019 Climb for Clean Air Team.
So I've made a commitment-
I will be climbing Mt. Hood by the end of May.
And have also pledged to raise 4k for the American Lung Association!
To make this all happen I am going to need your help (yes you!). I am asking all of my friends, family, colleagues etc to support me in this journey by donating to help me reach this goal.
Now you may be wondering why this event and why this cause?
Most of you know my dad passed away about 8 years ago from cancer. And while it did not start as lung cancer it did progress and eventually reach his lungs. For the last few months of his life he was unable to speak. I still to this day struggle to talk about any of it.
My dad loved Mt. Hood. So much so that when he passed he asked that he be placed where he faces Mt. Hood from Willamette National. I have yet to be able to visit him there. But every time I look at the mountain I feel him with me and it gives me strength.
This one is for me, my dad and our mountain.
We have approx 70 climbers who will be climbing Mt.Hood, Rainer and Baker by summer. All of your support goes directly to the American Lung Association, Climb for Clean Air and is tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for all the love and support in these upcoming months!
