“Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.” – Barry Finlay
On July 24th I will climb Mt. Rainier with a team of passionate volunteers in support of the American Lung Association.
I get to combine my passion for climbing with the opportunity to support clean air and healthy lungs. As a climber, I have set a goal of raising $4,250.00 for The American Lung Association by June 1st 2019.
As a yoga instructor, I deeply value and understand the importance of healthy lungs. My job is to help people connect with their own breath awareness. Once we understand that breath is literally our "life force," and the most basic necessity to our survival it becomes clear that healthy lungs are incredibly important.
The ALA's mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research. For 115 years, they have led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air, whether it's searching for cures to lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco, or fighting for laws that protect the air we all breathe.
The American Lung Association:
- Mission: To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
- Vision: A world free of lung disease.
- Strategic Imperatives:Defeat lung cancer. Improve the air we breathe so it will not cause or worsen lung disease. Reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families. Eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases.
We all know someone in our lives who is struggling with lung health whether it be family or friends. Every donation I receive helps make a bigger impact. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, and if you can please spread the word via social media!
Thank you so much for any and all support!!!
