Let’s make sure everyone can benefit from healthy lungs.
Chances are you know someone who has faced the challenges of asthma, COPD, lung cancer or air pollution. As a healthcare provider, I take care of people who struggle to breath every day. More personally, I watched my Grandpop struggle to breath while awaiting a lung transplant. An image of a strong, yet gentle man reflects in my mind. But without the oxygen we rarely even think about during our day, it is crippling to those who struggle to get enough. I have long loved the mountains and glaciated peaks that we live amongst in the PNW. As John Muir wrote, "the mountains are calling & I must go & I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." The onus of preservation of these great mountains is with each of us. Preserving that which gives us the air we breath matters. I am climbing Mt. Baker "Koma Kulshan"- the most glaciated of all the Cascade volcanoes behind Mt. Ranier, to raise awareness for clean air and the long overdue climb in the memory of my Grandpop, Tom Jackson.
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Lung Association provide community based education programs, fight for cleaner air standards and fund life-saving research. With your help, we will fight against lung disease and for lung health. We will be making a positive difference for all of the parents who have a child with asthma, the people who struggle daily with COPD and the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children and friends who get diagnosed with lung cancer.
Every donation I receive helps make a bigger impact. Please help support my efforts to save lives, donate now.
Together we can fight lung disease successfully!
